Not all homes in the Florida panhandle have beach views. When we don’t have views to exploit, we create nice, private courtyard spaces to look onto. These spaces are great for pools and outdoor living much like the Romans built centuries ago.
This house is in an L-shape and has a detached garage/apartment to create enclosure for a courtyard with pool. The open Living/Dining/Kitchen open up to the courtyard with a folding glass door. The Living space boasts a vaulted and beamed ceiling and a dormer for additional light.
The house is designed to basically look and feel like a Martha’s Vineyard cottage from the beach walk entry side. It has a cozy feel to it throughout which the owner really wanted.
